Fassisi Parvovirus Rapid Test

The Fassisi Parvo rapid test is used for reliable antigen detection of parvoviruses in the faeces of dogs and cats. Since 99% of the DNA structure of the Canine Parvovirus is identical to that of the Feline Parvovirus, the pathogens for both animal species (dog and cat) can be detected with a single test.

The disease caused by parvoviruses, Parvovirosis, is primarily spread through faeces. If an animal has parvovirosis and is not treated, for example because the disease was not detected, there is an increased chance of mortality (especially among puppies). With timely treatment, the animal's chance of survival increases by up to 90%. Early diagnosis is therefore important to be able to treat the sick animal properly.

It is also essential for the protection of other animals that parvovirosis is detected quickly. The parvovirus can survive for a long time without a host and is resistant to changing environmental influences. Once the parvovirus has spread undetected, it poses a significant risk of infection to other animals. By quickly detecting the pathogen, the test offers the opportunity to combat these problems at an early stage.
